SD49 Recognizes Outstanding Volunteers

Since the SD49 Convention this spring was virtual, SD 49 took advantage of the Ice Cream Social to hand out volunteer recognition awards in person.

Co-Chair Russ Burnison made the presentations, starting with Carol Brumwell as Volunteer of the Year.  He followed with Michael Barg, the first recipient of the Precinct Leader of the Year award.  The most significant volunteer recognition award, the SD49 Crystal Eagle, was given to Carol Kerr.

Carol Brumwell, our Newsletter Editor extraordinaire, was the Volunteer of the year, putting in countless hours in turning out a top-notch product, working with her long-time colleague, Randy Sutter. Carol has been an amazing asset to our Senate District!

Michael Barg was recognized as the Precinct Leader of the Year for his always available, can-do attitude.

In special recognition, Carol Kerr was awarded our Crystal Eagle.  This impressive statuette is presented every two years to someone who isn’t on the Executive Committee but goes above and beyond.  It couldn’t have been more well deserved, as Carol has consistently volunteered year after year!  There is nothing Carol doesn’t volunteer for, or participate in, and she always gives it her all!

Congratulations to all three of our SD 49ers...and THANK YOU for ALL you do! Without volunteers we would be nothing. Volunteers are indeed, the building blocks of our political units, and we owe them our gratitude for the time that they dedicate to our Party!
