2022 SD 50 Convention Call

To: The Delegates & Alternates of Senate District 50,

Pursuant to the provisions of the Constitution of the Republican Party of Minnesota and pursuant to the 2021 Reapportionment Manual issued by the Republican State Executive Committee, the Senate District 50 Convention is hereby called to meet:

When
SATURDAY, MARCH 19th

Registration is open from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM
Convention convenes at 10:00 AM

Where

The Senate District 50 Convention shall be composed of the delegates and alternates elected at the precinct caucuses in February of 2022 currently living within the boundaries of House Districts 50A and 50B.  If you are no longer living in House District 50A or 50B, please let us know.  

The Senate District Convention shall be held for the purpose of:

1. Approval of the Senate District 50 Bylaws
2. Election of Officers of the Senate District 50 Executive Committee for one-year terms
3. Election of Delegates, First Alternates, and Second Alternates to the Third Congressional District Convention (April 23) and the Fifth Congressional District Convention (April 2)
4. Election of Delegates, First Alternates, and Second Alternates to the Republican Party of Minnesota State Convention (May 13-14)
5. Consideration of endorsement of candidates for MN Senate District 50, MN House District 50A, and House District 50B
6. Consideration for adoption of Resolutions Passed by our 2022 Republican Precinct Caucuses
7. Transaction of such other business as may properly come before the convention

We will be creating a 2022 Convention page on our website on or about March 15.  Check out the material on that page to prepare for the convention. 

Delegates and Alternates: The pre-registration fee (received by Monday, March 14) is $30. After March 14, registration will cost $40.

Guests/Observers: The pre-registration fee (received by Monday, March 14) is $15. Payments taken at the door will be $20

To qualify for the pre-registration rate, please scroll down to register and pay online. 

You may also RSVP by emailing or calling Randy Sutter ([email protected]; 952-836-5925) by March 14 and pay at the door of the convention. Credit cards will not be accepted at the door.

Water, coffee, and snacks will be available in the morning.  No lunch will be provided and no other food will be available if the convention goes long.

NOTE:  If you wish to be considered for endorsement as a candidate for the Minnesota Senate in SD 50, or as a candidate for either Minnesota House District 50A or 50B, please contact Barb Sutter at [email protected] or 952-201-9625 on or before Saturday, March 12. By our bylaws and convention rules, interviews with candidates must take place prior to the convention.  If contacted by March 12, Barbara will schedule a time for interviews with the Candidate Search committee as required prior to the convention.
